I have loved writing for as long as I can remember. But I lost it after a lot of trauma as well. I'm not sure I'll fully ever get it back, but it has slowly, slowly come back. I wrote a SHIT TON of really dreary and depressing stuff in my journey to find my creativity again. I say let it out. It's kinds like lancing a wound. You can't get to the healthy parts if you don't release the darkness. Give yourself permission to write out the dreary and sad and angry. The positive stuff WILL eventually come creeping back in.
