It’s funny, in a not-funny way, how the right wing, especially the gun nuts, are silent as we descend into authoritarianism. Habeas Corpus is out the window, and they’re still sitting around, kissing their sisters, and making not a peep about fascist creep. Posse Comitatus used to be their clarion call, but now? Not a squeak as the military starts operating around the states as law enforcement. You just can’t count on anyone to do the right thing these days, especially the MAGA right and their enabling politicians.

GOVERNOR COX HAPPY TO VIOLATE HIS OATH OF OFFICE.
Sycophantic Lickspittle Wearing the Governor’s Clothes Dislikes the Constitution
SALT LAKE CITY, UT, 06/11/2025 – As the country continues to slip into an authoritarian autocracy, Utah Governor Spencer Cox has, contemptuously, rolled over and shown his belly in defilement of his oath of office.
The oath of office for the Utah Governor, as defined in the Utah State Constitution, states: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Utah, and that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity.”
Cox has said about the 1st Amendment and President Trump’s violations of the law in regard to the protests in LA: “I wish the Constitution didn’t say that, and I wish that the federal law doesn’t say that, but it does say that.”
Longtime activist and host of the award winning The LEFT Show, J.M. Bell, has released the following statement:
“It should be a surprise that Governor Cox would ignore his sworn oath to please a 34-time convicted felon, and adjudicated sexual deviant, but it isn’t. The Federal Government is ignoring Habeas Corpus, and has now violated the Posse Comitatus Act, deploying troops in a law enforcement capacity on American Soil. Governor Cox’s willing capitulation to violate both constitutions is a feckless reaction to the lawlessness of the Trump Administration. It is disappointing in the extreme, but at this point, not a surprise.
“My recommendation would be for the people of Utah to attend one of these rallies and see for themselves not only how peaceful it is, but what the message is as well. They’re American, they’re patriotic, and they’re peaceful.”
