It’s been a minute since I used this platform, and I apologize for that, even though this is nothing anyone needs.
I’m aware that I’m screaming into a void, and when I’m not, I’m singing to the choir. It’s a matter of embracing reality and accepting that, no matter how loudly I sing, I’m one voice in billions, and that’s a small space to inhabit.
Okay, I’ve depressed myself at the beginning of what was supposed to be a victory lap, but, if I just smiled and did a little dance for you, would I even be me anymore?
It started as a collection of written musings, some of them pulled and updated from this platform and the rest of them new and different. It ended up being something that I am oddly proud of, while also battling imposter syndrome on a massive scale.
This was supposed to launch in May of this year but as events kept unfolding, I kept writing. When you’re presenting a book on current affairs, you want it to be as current as possible. The thing is, it’s not a book on current affairs, not entirely, even though there’s some of that in there.
No, it’s a collection of stories, observations, whines, and rants with a surprising amount of flashbacks and wry asides. I like it.
Anyway, review copies have been sent out, the final layout is being typeset, the printer negotiations are underway, I’m trying to find time to record the audio book … it’s a lot, really, but I have to admit that for the most part, I am having fun with this.
I hope you’ll join me on this new thing. You can sign up for a Kickstarter campaign launch notification at www.mondayinamerica.com - and I appreciate you letting me steal a few minutes of your time to pitch something personal and to dance in the toxic rain of unbridled capitalism with me.
What do you guys say to one last romp in consumerism before we throw off the shackles of our oppressors, topple the poison institutions, eat the rich, and finally enter the future utopia we were all promised as children this November. BLUE WAVE!
I'll order that book as soon as it's available!
